Macro utilizes an email/code system for provisioning accounts.

Individual Access

Individual accounts are provisioned by each individual user via their unique email address. To update your email address, please contact [email protected].

License permissions for individual accounts are based on the plan the account has selected. The default plan is free, and the upgraded plan can be selected from the Settings page.

Self-serve multi-seat licensing is anticipated to be available in mid 2025. Contact [email protected] for more info about purchasing multiple licenses for groups.

Enterprise Access

Organizations in Macro are segmented based on their email domain — I.E., [email protected] will fall under the Macro organization due to their @macro.com email address extension. Users of an enterprise license of Macro can be provisioned via a blanket permission (all people with a “sample.xyz” domain can access Macro) or via unique email ID permission (only “[email protected]” can access Macro).

Data storage is logically separated on an organizational basis in our backend to eliminate the possibility of any cross-contamination of data between separate groups.

Data isn’t shared between users within an organization, it’s segmented per individual accounts. Additional organizational sharing is on the release queue for sometime in 2025.

Account Security

Email & Code

Accounts are created and accessed by entering an email, which will then be sent a randomly-generated 6-digit access code to the same address. Entering that code will then grant the user a session in the app. No one at Macro has access to that 6-digit code, and we will never ask you for that code.

Role permissions are based on the users license info: Free, Paid, or Enterprise. You can see your license status under the Settings tab:

SSO/SAML/IAM

Macro currently supports Single-Sign On (SSO) through Google and Okta — managing Macro accounts can be handled through Google’s own account manager or your own IDP.

Contact [email protected] for more information regarding potential implementation of additioanl SSO options for Enterprise users.

Multi-factor Authentication

Macro doesn’t currently support any 2FA/MFA solutions.
